We've  been working hard this past month to make sure we could launch this project during the month of August, and I'm very happy to announce that we pulled it off!  Alkemia is now live!   Please check out the campaign and consider helping us to create this game!  We have several interesting reward tiers (some are limited!!) and some even more interesting stretch goals in mind.  We can't do this without your support, so click the Pledge button and become a backer today!!

Alkemia has been on quite the journey, including many play tests at many conventions, and even an unsuccessful first

Kickstarter attempt last year.  Although we were saddened to cancel the campaign, we knew that it would be for the best and that we'd come back bigger and badder than before!  Since the last campaign, we've revamped the game to make it more accessible to players and reduced the game play time.  More and more art has been coming in from all our artists and even some other forms of entertaining media have been in the works, heh heh.   

Don't forget!  If you'll be at GenCon this weekend, stop by the IGA booth to get a demo of Alkemia.  Also, we will be at FlameCon and TempleCon later on in the month, so be sure to stop by and check out the game.  If you're a backer when we meet at either FlameCon or TempleCon, or you become one while there, we will reward you with some exclusive in-game Items that only you lucky backers will have.  Don't let this opportunity slip by!


Kickstarter Relaunch and Convention Schedule

It is with great excitement that we announce Alkemia's second Kickstarter attempt will be running throughout

August 2016.  Currently the launch is planned for sometime during the first week.  Stay tuned for an exact date as we approach it.

In addition, we are thrilled to announce the conventions that we'll be attending this year!  Our Kickstarter campaign will be live during the August shows.  If you like what you see, please consider becoming a backer.  

So far, we will definitely be appearing at:

  • Gen Con, Indianapolis, IN, August 4 - 7
    • Sadly, we will not be physically present at Gen Con this year.  However, Alkemia will be!  Head to the Indie Game Alliance (IGA) booth in the main vendor hall to examine and play Alkemia for yourself.  The members of IGA will also be doing live demos of the game on Sunday morning, so be sure to check that out!
  • FlameCon, Brooklyn NY,  August 20 - 21
    • We will have a table throughout the weekend where we will be showing off Alkemia.  Come check us out!
    • All backers that we meet at this Con will receive some exclusive Item cards that won't be available ever again!
  • TempleCon, Warwick RI,  August 25 - 28
    • We will have a table in the Garden Pavilion throughout the whole show.  Come check us out and see if Alkemia is right for you!
    • We will be running many demo events throughout the weekend.  Check out the board game event schedule and search for 'Alkemia.'  You can sign up in advance or come find our table and sign up with us directly.  Either way, we hope you'll all stop by and see what we have to offer!
    • All backers that we meet at this Con will receive some exclusive Item cards that won't be available ever again!

Other potential conventions include:  Twin Tiers Comic Con, RoboCon, Uticon, RetroGame Con, and Metatopia.

Happy Birthday to Alkemia!!

Alkemia has turned 3 years old today!  It's hard to believe we've been working on this game for that long.  How times flies when you're having fun, right?  Speaking of which, it's been a few months since our last update.  We've been hard at work play testing and developing new formats for everything: cards, character sheets, tiles, even the rule book!  At this point, nearly all the formatting changes have been finished; and let me say, they are looking good!  Here are a couple examples of the new format:

Seriously!?  This is incredible!  We are beyond excited to have our Kickstarter campaign be a success.  A HUGE thank you to all of our backers.  We could not have done this without you.  We are so so grateful!  Now, after more than 3 years, Alkemia can be born into the world!​

We'll be working hard over September to finalize the remaining few components left to finalize.  We're planning to place our order with our manufacturer by the end of the month.  We will also be placing all the orders for the reward components with all our reward partners soon too.  We'll keep all you backers out there informed through Kickstarter updates.


Post Kickstarter Campaign Update #1

Hello hello!  We hope everyone celebrating Thanksgiving had a wonderful holiday with family and friends.  We certainly did! And during our celebrations, something exciting happened...we received our manufacturer sample copy of Alkemia!  Words cannot express how thrilled we were to look through these final versions of the components.  You can check out our YouTube channel to watch us un-box everything and show off all the pieces, or just watch the video below.  Overall we love what we saw in the sample.  We came up with only a few tweaks to make, mainly to the front of the box, and have already sent those changes to be worked in.  Within the next week or so we expect to give them the green light for full production. We'll be sure to share any pictures and updates we receive along the way on our Facebook, Kickstarter, and website; so keep an eye out!

Speaking of Kickstarter, rewards are continuing to be worked on.  All of the backer names we've received have been added to our Alkemia page (check it out here).  We received all of the character prints and are working on a batch shipment to be made to the Shelled Mirror backers that have answered the survey.  Those should be going out in the next day or so.  Our third party friends making the custom character pieces and the knitted dice bags are hard at work.  We hope to get some pictures of their progress soon.

Lastly, we have decided on what to pursue for our second game!  It won't be Alkemia themed and it will be a smaller scale game, but we really think players are going to love the rarely seen theme we have chosen.  And don't worry.  We have much more in store for the world of Alkemia.  More to come on all that later!


Holiday Cheer!

Happy Post Holidays and New Year everyone!  We hope everyone had a fun and safe time.  We had a great holiday and are fully recharged for some exciting things coming this year.  Here's a little peek of what's been happening:

  • New item art is coming in all the time.  We have about 120 unique items that need drawing and coloring, and our artist Amy Stronach is doing a fantastic job.  Keep up the good work!
  • We managed to secure another artist, Adrian Ferbeyre, to help us work on some new tile art.
  • We're play testing the new changes we made after Metatopia all the time, and so far the changes have been well met!
  • We'll be attending a few conventions later on in the year.  More on that later.
  • Another Kickstarter is going to be launch this summer!!  Keep an eye out for announcements!
